HTC ChaCha review : Facebook on the go

HTC recently launched there popular phone HTC ChaCha in some countries. Here is the review of this smartphone.

Hardware & Design 

Body -

HTC ChaCha's body is a plastic like but doesn't feels like plastic in hands and perfectly comfortable in hands.
Width of HTC ChaCha is 10.7 mm thick which falls on the category of slim phones but it slips from hand sometimes which is dangerous for a body like this.

Display -

Here HTC fails to provide quality, the screen is TFT and produce only 256K colors where now a days minimum S-LCD screen with 16 Million colors should be provided . It consists Gorilla Glass which is like fingerprint scanner and you have to clean the screen always to see in sunlight. In sunlight display is quite good compared to other TFT screens but not as great as S-LCD & AMOLED .

Hardware Keys -

QWERTY keyboard is awesome and has a very great build quality. Typing in this keys will give you a feel of macbook.

A Facebook button is given in the Right-Bottom of the phone which give you quick access to phone's Facebook  features like Chat, Pic. Upload , Status Updates and many more. But I think there is no use of this placing a shortcut in the main menu will also give you one touch access to Facebook Features.

No Track-Pad this is the good decision taken by HTC to remove the track pad  as it is of no use.

Camera -

Camera is not that great but it is good. Performance at night suffers most . Face detection , smile detection and auto focus features is given.

OS and UI -

HTC provide HTC SENSE with there phones which is the best custom UI available for android. HTC ChaCha packs Gingerbread v2.3 and HTC new SENSE UI 2.1.

RAM , ROM and CPU


Phone have 512MB rom and 512MB ram.CPU is 800 MHz which is well enough for this phone and it will run very smooth .

Facebook Features -


It consist of special application called FB Chat which is used to chat directly from your homepage. And comes with pre installed with Facebbok Android  App

FM Radio-


Surprisingly there is no FM Radio in it. Hope it will be available in future updates.

Battery Life-


Battery life is very good it can be run for 1 and 1/2 day uninterrupted.
